#417 The Gift of Spiritual Eyesight Mark 10.51 Part 2
A blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Tmaeus, was sitting by the road. And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus , Son of David, have mercy on me!”
“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked the blind man.
A question for us
It is very moving to imagine Jesus asking us this question: What do you want me to do for you?”
This question clarifies our deepest needs. It occurs to me that the healing of spiritual blindness could be the core of what we need. The need behind every fear, every need for guidance, every emotional upheaval is met through the restoring of our spiritual eyesight, when we are empowered to SEE as God and Christ SEE. It is interesting that the name Bartimaeus, Son of Timaeus mean Son of the unclean. (#924) Our sight has been marred since the all of Adam. The first deliverance is when Jesus heals his followers and restores sight in this Gospel Age. 2 Corinthians 4:4,6 The second deliverance is when the Kingdom blessings are poured out on all, when “the knowledge of the LORD covers the earth as the waters cover the sea” when all the family of Adam be restored. Isaiah 11:9; Isaiah 35!
“In Thy light we see light.” Psalm 36:9
We were blind and now we can see. Today is another day to us to use this miraculous gift of spiritual eyesight to perform the feats of love by grace. We have not yet attained all the sight we might, but we can work to that goal by looking unto Jesus and ask for that which was the right answer to his long ago query to the unsighted…
Mark 10:51 KJV “And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?”
Restore more fully our sight dear Lord. .. Brother Ron
Whenever we pray for wisdom and direction, we are praying for more of the miraculous gift of spiritual eyesight. Romans 12:2 Let us ask according to our need—when in fear, when in reaction, when in need for direction, in full confidence that we are being answered. James 1:5-6
