The Heart of the Father

The heart of our Father has permitted great suffering to empower the greatest blessing.
We can trust through every challenge and permission because we can trust the heart of the Father.
#237 The Heart of the Father
I just became aware of a friend’s heartache regarding an inappropriate incident that happened 12 years ago and perhaps more recently also, which has now become known. He is a decent, kind, responsible human being, and he, like all of us, has his issues of sin. When I saw him very briefly the other day, I gave him a hug and told him that he has my thoughts and prayers. We will use our influence to help him take responsibility for what he has done and to go forward in righteousness, and this is part of my prayer for him.
Almost 2 weeks ago one of my very close Christian friends told me about her husband’s nephew, who found his wife with another man, shot the man, and then shot himself.
The Taskmaster sin is relentless, and as human beings we are so in need of deliverance. Exodus 1:13,14 2:23
I think that part of appreciating the greatness of the sacrifice of God and Christ is realizing the enormous scope of the permission of evil and all the pain that has resulted.
Surely it takes great self restraint on the part of the Father to let the ravages of sin continue on for six thousand of years, affecting every child in this human family that He loves so much.
Surely it took great restraint for the Father to allow His Beloved Son to bear the sin of Man on the cross.
Surely it takes great restraint as He watches over the fires that must test and refine His Beloved Israel, the nation and the spiritual seed as well.
His justice demands the consequences of sin continue from generation to generation, and His LOVE created this plan as the best way to secure eternal education and eternal blessing.
“There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death,
Prisoners in misery and chains, because they had rebelled against the words of God,
and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; they stumbled and there was none to help.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands apart.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving kindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men!
For He has shattered gates of bronze, and cut bars of iron asunder.” Psalm 107:10-16 NASB
Although these verses may apply directly to the nation of Israel (Psalm 107:16 seems directly related to the greater than Cyrus deliverance, shattering seemingly immoveable doors of bronze and iron bar obstacles on behalf of the nation –Isaiah 45:1-2, 3-4) there is a more wide spread deliverance of the whole unbelieving world prophesied in Isaiah 45:22-25. Perhaps the deliverance promised in this Psalm is experienced first by Israel, and then by the rest of our weary world.
The heart of the Father is so full of love for humanity that He has permitted unthinkable suffering to create unimaginable blessing for all.
Getting Who actually permits our experiences and why is a great deterrent to blame.
Joseph realized the divine intention, that God meant it for good regardless of the otherwise intentions of anyone involved, and it freed him from resentment. People are still accountable, but we can be free.
John 19:11 holds a principle that is a great strength to me. Pilate said to Jesus, “ ‘Do you not know that I have authority to release you, and I have authority to crucify you?’ Jesus answered, ‘You would have no authority over me, unless it had been given you from above…”
The heart of the Father is behind every permission in this world, and in our own lives.
We can trust the far reaching wisdom and depth of love in whatever He permits.
We can trust through every challenge and permission because we can trust the heart of the Father.
