#433 The Mindset of Deliverance, the Captivity of Christ
I have been experiencing some anxiety in regard to some experiences at work.
A dear Sister asked: But what does it mean to bring every thought into the captivity of Christ?? What becomes of the thought when it's a captive in this way? 2 Cor 10:4-5
The captivity of Christ would literally mean every thought is ‘held prisoner’ or completely under his authority. This captivity is actually true FREEDOM!
So we cast down or remove reasonings that are not in harmony with God, and we surrender every thought to the power and authority of Christ.
Our thoughts becomes sanctified and made new. Romans 12:2
Another phrase that describes every thought in captivity to Christ may be ‘to have the mind of Christ.’ 1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:4-5 The goal is to use the energy of our thinking as Christ did, to the glory of the Father.
I am having a bit of a struggle with some anxiety in regard to some experiences at work, so this question has been very helpful for me to ponder.
Our thoughts are to be surrendered to the authority of Christ, the anointed one.
Isaiah 61:1-3 shows the purpose of the anointing of Christ, and of his followers:
To preach, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance!
Our place in the work of deliverance begins with our own deliverance,
which certainly includes every thought being brought into the servitude of our Precious Anointed Savior! Thoughts surrendered to the authority of Christ equip and prepare us to be part of the work of the Deliverer now by being a light and encouragement, and in the future through the privilege of blessing all the families of the earth from heavenly glory!
And so I am praying, Dear Lord, take my thoughts,
I surrender my thinking to the anointing power of the holy Spirit,
to be a force for the anointed cause of Deliverance.
This thought helps me grapple with stressful issues right now is:
Help me think about this issue with the mindset of Deliverance.
