The Miracle of Acceptance

#260 The Miracle of Acceptance Psalm 118.23
I was realizing how unkind I have been in my thoughts toward certain people in my life who tend to get on my nerves.
I felt relatively hopeless that my pattern could be dealt with in the Lord. This verse challenged my doubt.
If we are weary and heavy laden from a pattern of sin in our lives we need to do what scripture says: “Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
The very name of Jesus means that he will deliver his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
Then I received an email friend and sister in Christ. She sent me this verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
Rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus!!!
This verse reminded me of another verse:
“This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:23
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:22-23
Part of the marvelous miracle of this day is that our eyes are open to LOVE the one who was despised and rejected of men. “For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 God has exercised His creative power, and said “Let there be light” in our hearts, and there was light!
Peter quotes this same verse from Psalm 118 in 1 Peter 2:7. He identifies Jesus as the stone which was rejected by the builders, and expresses that that stone is ‘a precious corner stone’ (verse 6-7). “You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood…” 1 Peter 2:5 Jesus is the chief cornerstone, he is our Life, he is the Stone by which the Temple of God is measured and patterned by, and we KNOW it and surrender to the ‘being built up’ work of the Master Builder so that the pattern our lives is after his holy example.
This brings me to a penetrating question: Who, or what may I be rejecting in my life, that is meant to be accepted as what the Master Builder has ordained as vital to the up-building of His Temple?
We resist our precious cornerstone when we resist the experiences and the people that are meant to make us more like him. “When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives, my brothers, don’t resent them as intruders, but welcome them as friends.” James 1:2
Open my eyes, Lord, to gratefully accept what I tend to reject from Your hand.
Rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus!!!
Gratefully Barefoot with my Rejoicingly Barefoot Sister,

This is the day which the LORD has made; I will accept the gift in every turn of events and rejoice in every circumstance.
