#415 The Past and Present Reality of Deliverance
Lesson 1: He is with us in every Red Sea Experience;
“Your Red Sea:
Go forward fearlessly.
Do not think about the Red Sea that lies ahead. [Focus on HIM]
Be very sure that when you come to it”
[His power will be with you to go through it.]
…the waters will part and you will pass over to your promised land of freedom.”
"Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.” Exodus 14:13 ILT
"Don't be afraid! Stand still and watch how the LORD will deliver you today.” ISV
“Have no fear! Stand by, and witness the deliverance which the LORD will work for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you will never see again. The LORD will battle for you; you hold your peace!” Exodus 14:13-14 Tanakh
Lesson 2: Do not limit His Creative Deliverance in life to past experience.
Expect His Deliverance in the present dilemma!
“This is what the LORD says--
He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,
Who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together,
And they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick;
‘Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.’ ” Isaiah 43:16-19
This “new thing” alludes to Israel’s deliverance from Babylon. And it points to a greater deliverance and blessing on the nation of Israel which culminates with the Lord battling for them against impossible odds, the spirit being poured on the house of David and the house of Judah, and the acceptance of Messiah. Isaiah 44:1-7 Zechariah 12:6-14 And this deliverance of Israel is followed by another great deliverance, as all the peoples of the earth join the nation of Israel in accepting Christ and serving God. Isaiah 14:1, 2:1-5; Romans 8:19-21
Just as He made a path through mighty and threatening waters and was victorious over so great a foe, trust Him to use the current challenge and to do something new and Creative thru it:
He can make a path through the Red Sea; He can make a path through any desert and provide refreshing Truth we need to survive the journey…
His deliverance is more than an amazing Ebenezer to look back upon.
It is a current reality, today, in the present moment’s challenge.
Whatever Red Sea lies ahead, whatever desert we may be called to journey through, He will make a way.
