The Peace When We are Silent

Good Morning!
Lord, teach me the art of listening to You by learning the art of quieting ‘the chatterbox’ in my head!
Much love in Christ,

#202 The Peace When We Are Silent Job 40.4
Job asked Why, and God answered him with Who—who He was in His power and wisdom.
When Job was finally confronted with WHO God really was he got to the point of silence and surrender regarding what he could not understand. “Behold, I am insignificant; what can I reply to Thee? I lay my hand on my mouth.” (NASB) “I have spoken once, and will not reply; twice, and will do so no more.” (Tenakh) Job 40:4
I am learning every day... don't look down! That’s when I stumble. When I try to figure things out on my own (ie: decisions I'm faced with) I cause myself not only mental stress, but I'm finding health problems as a result. Prayer and giving it over to the Lord are what I am working on. My motto has been " When in doubt, do nothing. The Lord will reveal the answer in His own time." The doing nothing is the hardest part when a decision needs to be made right away. That’s when prayer, prayer, prayer and being SILENT comes into it so we can hear His answer, not our own. This “nothing” is achieved when we pour out our heart before Him. “Trust in Him at all time, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 62:8
When we pour out our hearts there is an emptiness, a space created that God can fill.
That still small voice that comes to us in the midst of the storm can only be heard if we are really listening. I Kings 19:12
As we continue to commit our works to the God who keeps His promises through the silence of emptying our will and preconceived perceptions and by obedience in the next one thing, the Lord will lead us step by step in His Path of Peace.
