The Posture of Possibilities

Dear Lord, I come to you with my human-ness and the patterns in me that create conflicts.
You understand what I am made of, all the elements of experience that bring me to where I am.
(Psalm 103:14 He knows our frame; He is mindful that we are dust, the elements of experience that make us who we are with the patterns we have.) And you love me right at this point of time. Psalm 103:11-13
Thank you for loving me right now in this process.
Thank you for being witness to my feelings, and for understanding my hurt and my anger.
Thank you for the determination to do whatever is necessary to make things right.
Thank you for Your step by step encouragement to go forward trusting in Your strength and guidance.
The ‘easy way’ of avoidance in relationships is not the best way. It only creates accumulated issues and stress. Avoidance does not help us to experience our feelings of anger in a godly way without sin.
Avoidance does not help us to resolve the anger in a timely way—before” the sun goes down”! Ephesians 4:26-27
The LORD brought me from discouragement to amazement as I experienced the Posture of Possibilities.
Much love in the power of His possibilities,
Joy
#255 The Posture of Possibilities Luke 21.28
I recently came across a card that reads: Hope turns worry around to face an entirely new set of possibilities…
The inside read “Hope for the best.” I changed it to “Confidently Hope in God for the best.” Psalm 61:5!
I received an email the other day with timely words: “Hang in there. Keep looking up.”
This made me think about my spiritual posture. When I look down I see a very limited view. But when I look up I see the vast expanse of the heavens, the unlimited possibilities of God.
“Sorrow looks down. Worry looks around. Faith looks up.”
Psalm 86:4-5 Make glad the soul of Thy servant, for to Thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul. For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkinndness to all who call upon Thee.”
The reason for reaching up to God with our heart and the power of our mind is because of Who He is.
He is good. He is ready to forgive. He lavishes His loving-kindness.
“To Thee I lift up my eyes, O Thou who art enthroned in the heavens!” Psalm 123.1
“Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; for I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; for to Thee I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143.8 The reason we reach up to God with every emotional and spiritual capacity is because we know His guidance and His wisdom regarding the direction of our lives is profound and unfailing.
“Many are saying of my soul, ‘There is no deliverance for him in God.’ But Thou, O LORD, art a shield about me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head. I was crying to the LORD with my voice, and He answered me from His holy mountain.” Psalm 3.3
Sometimes WE are the one saying there is no deliverance—‘I just don’t see how this can work out for good’. The truth is that He is our buckler, and the One who lifts up our head from discouragement to amazement, because He responds to our needs in HIS best time and way. That is His part. Our part is to LOOK UP so that we can see His responsive deliverance.
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you should not be their slaves, and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.” Leviticus 26.13 Deliverance in Christ creates the posture of dignity and confidence in Christ!
There will be signs in the moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken…But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21.25-28
Straighten up and Look up! Then we are able to see His bigger picture. Instead of being burdened and bent down in fear we can stand upright in balance and confidence with the knowledge of the greater cause behind every turmoil and conflict.
