#420 The Power of Acceptance
”Accept each day just as it comes to you.
Do not waste your time and energy wishing for a different set of circumstances.
Instead, trust Me enough to yield to My design and purposes…” S Young
Why wish for a different Cup?
Why fight against Eternal Wisdom and Unfailing Love?
The One who pours the Cup is the LORD, the God mighty to keep His covenant promises:
He knows what He is doing!
“So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. And he said,
"It is the LORD; let Him do what seems good to Him." 1 Samuel 3:18
Resistance questions and statements, stated audibly or silently, out of a tone of scolding and impatience, with the intent to prove how bad/painful/inconvenient/irritating things are:
WHY did this have to happen?
This is impossible to deal with.
Oh, not again…I can’t go through this again.
I don’t WANT it to happen this way.
Resistance questions and statements create pain.
Acceptance questions and statements: stated audibly or silently, out of a tone of curiosity with the intent to discover the treasure:
I wonder what the LORD is trying to tell me?
I wonder what the treasure is that I am not seeing yet?
I know that somehow His Eternal Wisdom and Unfailing love is at work.
It is an honor to go through this experience with you, Lord.
I delight in Your intentions and trust You to work out the outcome.
Acceptance questions and statements create peace, and the space for His will to be fulfilled in us.
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered.
"May it happen to me according to your word."
