#418 The Power of Listening from His Love
I have been praying about how to communicate in a better way.
When certain subjects are brought up, we can carry an automatic set of reactions. I have my set of strong opinions, and some automatic tendencies to be defensive and so convinced of my view I am not open to listen.
The LORD spoke to my heart through this thought:
“This vast ocean of love cannot be measured or explained, but it can be experienced.”
Eph 3:16-19
Oh that we could help one another experience the depths of this love!
When we seek Him for this question He will reveal the ‘how’ to us.
And then He will equip us with the fortitude and persistence to be His love to others…
Even when it seems beyond our ability…Ephesians 3:20-21 because He, “by his power within us is able to do infinitely more than we ever dare to ask or imagine…” (Phillips)
His message to me is:
LISTEN the way I listen. Rivet your attention on the conversation. Psalm 130:2
ASK QUESTIONS out of curiosity, with the heart of a treasure hunter. Proverbs 2:1-4
LISTEN with compassion; Psalm 34:4-7
Be silent (quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to react, “slow to anger” James 1:19 until it is time to speak.
Speak with the intent first to convey you understand, and then to discover together what might work or help the dilemma at hand.
Col 4:6 KJV Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Dear one, … Be transported in vision to the throne room of the Almighty this day. Be different. Be the love. Let your mind be stayed on Jesus. Walk that walk and talk that talk. Let the grace of God be realized in your heart as the purpose of your life. It is. Be the love…
Eph 6:24 KJV Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen --Brother Ron
The privilege we have in every relationship is to think and speak and act from the desire to have others experience the vast ocean of His love that cannot be measured or explained.
