#568 The Refuge of His Wise and Loving Power
“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern y going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.” Psalm 139-1-4
We are thoroughly known and understood.
Psalm 139:5 “You hem me in behind and before. You have laid your hand upon me.”
You hem me in behind and before: you closely surround us with Your Presence and Providence and You are completely aware of all things past, present and future.
You have laid Your hand upon me: Your hand of power is upon us to lead, protect and strengthen.
YOUR POWER IS UPON ME-- NOT the power of the circumstance!
I wholeheartedly surrender to this power, especially in times when circumstance brings the test of distraction or anxiety. It is a power that I can wholeheartedly trust because that power is wholeheartedly directed by Your Faithful and Wise Love.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God
that He may exalt you at the proper time,
casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
