#725 The Treasured Life
“Since you have been raised to a new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. For you are dead but your real life is hidden with Christ in God.” Col 3.1 NLT
Hidden: Strong’s #2928 krupto—to conceal by covering—'Hidden or concealed in a place of security like a valuable treasure.’ (AB)
Our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus treasure our spiritual life and therefore They securely protect it.
“Do not two sparrows sell for a halfpenny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s leave. But as for you, the very hairs on your heads are all numbered. Away then with fear; you are more precious than a multitude of sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31 Weymouth
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10-12 NIV
“The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121:7-8 NIV
Teach us more and more to value, treasure and protect this precious spiritual life we have been given.
“Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One).” Philippians 3.8 AMPC
Teach us more and more to value, treasure and protect the precious spiritual life of our Brethren.
“We know and, to some extent realize, the love of God for us because Christ expressed it in laying down his life for us. We must in turn express our love by laying down our lives for those who are our brothers.” 1 John 3.16 Phillips
“Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again (begotten), not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.” 1 Peter 1:22-23 ESV
