#486 They Will Not Prevail Psalm 129
“Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth”— let Israel now say— “Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.” Psalm 129:1-3
Though we may have had difficult experiences in the past, even in childhood, those experiences do not define us. They will not prevail against us, despite the depth of pain that was inflicted.
“The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. The LORD is righteous: he knows how to “cut the cords of the wicked.” He knows how to cut off the attachment and the power that these negative memories may have over us; He knows how to free us from the cruel intentions of the Adversary. Psalm 129:4
“May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward! Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up, with which the reaper does not fill his hand nor the binder of sheaves his arms…” Psalm 129:5-7 There will be no evil harvest to those intentions.
“Nor do those who pass by say, “The blessing of the Lord be upon you! We bless you in the name of the Lord!” Psalm 129:8 We recognize that the world is blind to the truth, and that they do not proclaim the LORD’s blessing on us. Many do even recognize His existence, and many completely misunderstand Who He really is. We know that in the Kingdom, under the blessing of Christ, that each person resurrected will have the opportunity to be healed from whatever plow of painful experience has wounded their hearts and minds, from childhood and throughout life, through the Healing Ministry of Reconciliation of Christ and His Bride. Revelation 22:17; 21;2-4; 22:1-2 Isaiah 61:1-3,4; Romans 8:19-21 And that the majority of our human family will at that time declare praise and gratitude to God, to Christ, and to Their people, both natural and spiritual Israel, as stated in Psalm 118:26.
In that day the Stone which the builders rejected will be recognized as the chief corner stone, (Psalm 118:2224) and those who previously did not understand or accept the sacrifice of Christ (Matthew 23:37-39) will say “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed you from the house of the LORD.”
Let us declare in praise to God and Christ, that no past, present or future scheme of Satan will prevail over us. The love and power of God and Christ in us and without us will prevail! Romans 8:31-39 Isaiah 54:17
"No man is really dishonored except by his own act. Calumny, injustice, ingratitude—the only harm these can do us is by making us bitter or rancorous or gloomy: by shutting our hearts or souring our affections. We rob them of their power, if they only leave us more sweet and forgiving than before; and this is the only true victory. We win by love. Love transmutes all curses and forces them to rain down in blessings. Out of the jealousy of his brothers Joseph extracted the spirit of forgiveness. Out of Potiphar's weak injustice, and out of the machinations of disappointed passion, he created an opportunity of learning meekness. Our enemies become unconsciously our best friends, when their slanders deepen in us heavenlier graces. Let them do their worst; they only give us the God-like victory of forgiving them."
