#554 Trusting Enough to Get Out of the Boat
A Message from our Heavenly Father
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41.10
There is no need to look around and be distracted and focused in alarm and fear.
I am with you;
I am Your God: exercising my power and authority on your behalf.
I will strengthen you to be alert in courage.
I will surround you with protection.
I will support you with the right hand of my righteousness--
I will support you through the power of My Precious Son.
How the Heavenly Father supports us through His Son:
It was night, and the disciples were in the boat, battered by waves by a contrary wind. They cried out in fear as they saw Jesus walking on the sea. They did not recognize him. Jesus spoke to them: “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
O Lord Jesus,
When we look around in fear Teach us to recognize you amid the storm.
“Lord, if it’s you, Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’
“COME,” he said. “And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out saying, ‘Lord, save me!’ Matt 14.24-30
This is an example of how we are supported through the right hand of His righteousness:
“ And immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and took hold of him, and said,
‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’ ” Matthew 14:31
Why did you doubt, O you who have a faith that needs to grow still stronger?
I am with you in this storm.
I am exercising my power and authority on your behalf. Matthew 28:18; Philippians 4:19
Trust me in this storm.
I am teaching you to walk on water, to triumph over what seems impossible as you draw closer to me.
The Heavenly Father “gives great deliverance to His king,
And shows lovingkindness (Checed Covenant love and affection) to His anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.” Psalm 18:50
