#495 Trusting the Love that Stabilizes Us Through Every Storm
Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16-19 is that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; and that being rooted and grounded in love we may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
The love of God in Christ Jesus is stabilizing. We can be rooted and grounded and stabilized in that love, in the amazing dimensions of that love….the love that comes from the heart of the One who created the plan of deliverance for you and for all people…the One who gave His Son,
And from the heart of the Son who willingly gave himself. It is a love that will freely give us all things according to the wisdom of that unfailing love. Romans 8:31-32 It is a love that is willing and able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think. Ephesians 3:20-21
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee.” Psalm 56:3
I can hear Jesus speak to me amid the storms and waves of life: Why are you afraid, O ye of little faith?— you whose faith is there, but little—with the need to grow…. Matthew 8:26 We have a foundation of faith that needs to grow to meet whatever the storm until that faith becomes fully confident. Fear does not mean we don’t have any faith, it is a sign of the need to grow into more trust according to the challenge at hand.
Jesus bids us to find stability in the storm through the love of the Father and the Son. I hear him entreating me amid whatever the challenge: Will you trust Our love for you?
Abundant peace have those who love with affection Your law, Your teachings, Your principles, Your will, and NOTHING shall make them stumble. Psalm 119:165
“It is encouraging for us to know that this warfare is not one which we must wage alone. All the powers of Heaven are enlisted on our behalf.” 5854
"All the divine resources are at hand, the very power of God at our disposal, and the angels of God waiting upon every spiritual need of heaven's princess, with those echoes of mercy and whispers of love." Br. Holliday "The Virtuous Woman"
Fear quivers; faith fights.
Fear says, “later; ”faith “now”.
Fear is defeat; faith is victory.
Fear tears us down; faith moves us up.
Fear says, “how’? Faith says, “God”.
