Looking forward to leaving for a visit with my family out East and will return in January.
May we rejoice in the true reason for the season,
the Unspeakable Gift, given by a love we cannot fathom.
Lord, bless the closing of this year and the dawn of another.
#497 Wake me up, Lord Isaiah 50.4-5
May we follow in the footsteps of our Precious Savior, and also fulfill these verses.
Paraphrase of Isaiah 50:4-5:
You have given me the language in thought and spoken word
of one who is instructed by You, as Your student,
that I may know how to quickly speak to help one that is weary and exhausted.
He wakes me up and opens my heart morning by morning;
He wakes me up and opens my ears to intelligently listen and obey,
as one who is instructed, Your student.
The Sovereign Passionate God has opened up and ploughed by ear;
I will not be bitter or rebellious; and I will not retreat or run away.
Our prayer for the New Year, and for every day:
Open our perceptions and thoughts morning by morning.
May we learn to speak your language of love fluently,
as we surrender our thinking and our spoken words to Your instruction. Romans 12:2
Wake us up LORD, to hear Your voice and to listen.
May our earliest thought be: (I will awaken the dawn with this thought! Psalm 57:8!)
“What shall I render unto the LORD for all His benefits toward me.” Psalm 116:12
And may our answer be that we shall partake of the Cup of Deliverance,
calling on Him for the strength and spiritual insight necessary
to pay our vows each day according to His will. Psalm 116:13-14
