#422 Waking up to Hope in God in the Present Moment
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
And why art thou disquieted within me?
Hope thou in God;
for I shall yet praise him For the help of his countenance.” Psalm 42:5 ASV
Whatever the present challenge, we can hope in God,
who is mighty on our behalf because He will provide to us
the “help” ie deliverance or saving healths plural, of His face or favor. (Numbers 6:25-26).
Our praise is based not on our circumstance,
but on the One who is in control of the circumstance!
As a dear Sister in Christ shared with me, we can trust in God and in Jesus' work but our shoulders can still be up around our neck…
So we need to claim that promise that He is “a very present help in trouble” ... Psalm 46:1 (one meaning of trouble is tightness...! Be it shoulders or the 'no way out' appearance of being trapped in circumstances ...) we can all pray for our shoulders— our perception of stress, to live securely in the moment because He is the God of our moments...
“Behold, I am with you, and will keep you wherever you go,
and will bring you back to this land;
for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said,
“Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” Genesis 28:15-16
He is with you. He is with me, in every turn of the road…
May we wake up
to the fact that Our Covenant Keeping God
is in this circumstance, whatever it be!!!
“…for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”
Philippians 2:13
Whatever we experience, help us remember that it is YOU efficiently and mightily at work according to the purpose You delight in: to deliver and to bless.
More important than what is happening in our circumstance is WHO is working through our circumstance!
