#601 Watching in Hope Micah 7:7
“But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; My God will hear me.” Micah 7:7
At a time when I was uneasy about possible outcomes with conflicts concerning employees, the Lord used this verse to calm my heart. It leads me to ask: What am I watching for? Am I riveted on possible outcomes that may be disappointing and difficult to deal with? We can choose to watch in negativity. We can choose to watch and dwell on what may be wrong.
May we choose to watch expectantly for the LORD, waiting patiently for the One who has power over our spiritual deliverance in every circumstance, knowing He hears our prayers for help, and knowing that His answer is in process even though we may not understand it yet.
The incident with Elisha and his servant comes to mind. “Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city.” They were surrounded by the enemy armies of King Aram. The servant spoke in fear. ‘Oh no, my Master! What will we do?’ Elisha answered calmly and with confidence in his voice. “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” (Romans 8:31!!) Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17
O LORD—open our eyes.
I am willing to see.
I am willing to change my focus.
I am willing to let go of my preconceived view and perception
and I want to see Your Truth regarding these challenges
and go forward in confident obedience.
May we walk by faith and the reality of His Wise and Loving process of deliverance and not by appearance.
