What did Jesus mean when He said: The Way, the Truth, the Life?
We see that pictured in the Tabernacle
The Way--the gate in which you enter the Tabernacle court--it is the only way one can approach God.
In the court you first see the brazen altar which shows Jesus' ransom sacrifice and by example that the Christian is to be a footstep follower and will "that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Rom 12:1) Next we come to the laver which shows that we are to "wash ourselves in the Word." and transform ourselves by the renewing of our minds and to come to repentance.
The Truth--that is the first vail which leads to the holy. The deeper truths are found in the Holy--the Shew Bread which is the bread only the priests could eat. The incense altar which pictures our prayers that go into the Most Holy. And the Candlestick--the Light of the Word which is vitalized by the olive oil--the Holy Spirit. To get into here, you must have to be sacrificed--that is spirit begotten and running for the high calling. All things in here are Gold and that is only shown to "sons of God" --the priesthood--the Little Flock (or those running for it).
The Life--that is shown on the day of Atonement when the priest goes in with the blood and sprinkles it on the Ark of the Covenant and comes out changes is outfit to the garments of glory and beauty and blesses the people.
The first part of that is the blood--the sacrifice of Jesus and the goat class (the Church). Their life is in the presence of God, on the throne with God. The priest coming out to bless the people is the Kingdom when all of mankind will be given the opportunity for life on earth.
It is only by coming through Jesus, who is the "Way" that we can get the truth and the life. He is the channel that God uses.
