Whatever You Do Part 2

Good Morning!
May the Lord bless us in the adventure of doing all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, motivated by gratitude.
This perspective gives newness and holy purpose to our everyday tasks, making the common things holy…
“Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
May the Lord give us the perspective and strength to make glory to God the touchstone of every choice.
Much love in Christ,
Joy
#198 Whatever you do Part 2 Colossians 3.17
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Col 3:17
“Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; not by way of eye service, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.” Ephesians 6:5-6
Not with eyeservice: opthalmodoulia: Vines: denotes service performed only under the master’s eye, diligently performed when he is looking, but neglected in his absence;
Clarify who you are serving so that your service will have integrity and be consistent.
(Also used in Col 3:22) “Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.” “Whatever you do, do your work from the soul, as for the Lord rather than for men;
Not as men pleasers: (anthropareskos: Vines: studying to please men)
Study to show yourself approved of GOD! 2 Timothy 2:15 Diligently meditate on how to please the Lord, showing the right dividing and discernment of the Word by how you live. For a ‘people pleaser’ like me, whose strategies to make people like me have become reflex since childhood, this is an exciting challenge.
One way to do all things for the Lord is to practice the attitude of gratitude: ”always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father…” Ephesians 5:20
Not sometimes giving thanks for some things, but continual gratitude for all circumstance and all responsibility, in the name, or by the authority and in harmony with who Jesus is. He is the Lord of all, above every name that is named. He is Jesus, whose name is deliverer from sin. His is Christ, anointed with the holy spirit of power.
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Col 3:17
Choose our words and actions as our way to thank God through our Lord Jesus.
It is an honor to honor the One who gives Life, the One who loves us with a Father’s love.
“In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ….”
We give thanks because of his authority, as an act of obedience. And we give thanks inspired and empowered by who he is. Our life becomes a prayer— thought, spoken and acted upon “in Jesus name.” 1 Corinthians 1:20
“Amen.”
