Christians, when does the resurrection of the unrighteous (the second resurrection) take place?
Christians, when does the resurrection of the unrighteous (the second resurrection) take place?
Is it during the millennial reign of Christ as Jehovah's Witnesses say? Will the unrighteous be given a second chance to be saved? What does the Bible say?
Answer:
I actually think there are more than just two resurrections.
The 1st Resurrection is the Bride, the Little Flock, the church of the first born.—the Kings and priests in the Kingdom we pray for.
The 2nd is the Great Multitude who are invited to the Wedding supper (Rev. 19:9)—they are more like the Levites in who serve in the Temple—directly related to the Jesus and his Bride. They are like Bride’s maids—in the true sense.
3rd is the Ancient Faithful (Hebrews 11)—they are an earthly class as Jesus had not opened the New and Living way—God providing something better for us (Heb. 11:40). –They will be princes in all the earth (Psa 45:16).
4th is the General Resurrection—that is all who were redeemed by Jesus’ blood—Adam and all his children.
I prefer the King James rendering of the verse:
Act_24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
There is a comparison of the “Just” and the “unjust”—that is the Justified (which are the Christians) and the “unjustified” which is everyone else.
Joh_6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
2Pe_2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Looking at the two scriptures above we get two thoughts: Unless God calls you to the High Calling—you can’t come to Jesus—If God was calling everyone who ever lived—Why would Jesus Make this statement?
Why does Peter say it was better for such an individual to have never known the way of righteousness?
Unless you are a proponent of Calivinism these scriptures need answers.
The Kingdom is the answer—when God’s will is done on the earth as it is done in heaven. With the Little Flock as Kings and Priests (over someone—if not the resurrected world of mankind who are they Kings and Priests over? Their titles would be meaningless) helping mankind up the highway of holiness (Isa. 35) and the prophecies that “all will know the Lord from the least unto the greatest” will be fulfilled (Jer. 31:34)
This is the “due time” when Jesus’ ransom sacrifice will be testified. (1 Tim. 2:5,6)
