Peace When the Stone is Too Heavy Part 2

Good Morning!
Thank you, dear spiritual family, for prayers regarding our employee challenges. The Lord is using some of your responses to make me aware of some important stepping stones in dealing with a stone that seems immovable.
First, I want to clarify. My fear was triggered after giving a written warning to an employee regarding hostile behavior on his part that was causing a hostile work environment. His response the next day made me know that his anger could lead him to try to lash out at the company. We have dealt with various legal issues in the past, more than once. Even when we are in the right, they are time consuming and very expensive. There is something about being questioned by Authority, and being questioned ‘on the witness stand’ that triggers old baggage thoughts of toxic shame and fear, like a child who is really afraid of getting into trouble, and its all her fault.
The intensity of his response does not mean that he will take action, I just know that it is a possibility. I will continue to document, and continue to pray for the employee and pray to honor God in every decision we make, especially if it involves further discipline.
Much love in Christ,
Joy

We can let our experiences flatten us! Or we can let them strengthen us.
It is all a matter of choice.
I am learning to deal with the challenge in the moment, instead of trying to deal with what has not yet happened in the future. “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34 There is enough challenge in a day to keep us busy, without borrowing the challenge of what has not yet happened! The present moment has enough gifts and challenges to keep us in continual communication with God!
I am learning to put any legal action or other forms of sabotage on the part of disgruntled employees in perspective. If Jesus asks me to go through this with him, I say “yes, it is an honor to go through this with you.”
I realize that I wrote something that is inaccurate: When I get triggered by certain situations, my fears only seem to be ‘immovable’ at the moment, and certainly in this case these fears are NOT as immovable as the employee’s attitude. I have a personal relationship with God and Christ, and the empowering resource of the holy Spirit at work inside and outside my life.
It is so easy for us to experience our emotions as more real than God’s promises. I forget to remind myself that my emotions do not define me. Instead of saying “I am afraid” it is more accurate to say “I am experiencing the temporary feeling of fear, and I choose to trust and dwell on His faithfulness.
To the mighty power of God these ‘immovable stones’ are less than a speck of dust on the scales, and yet He understands how we struggle.
…”Who has measured the waters in the hallow of His hand, and marked off the heavens by the span,
and calculated the dust of the earth by the measure, and weighed the mountains in a balance,
and the hills in a pair of scales? Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD,
or as His counselor has informed Him? With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding?
And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge,
and informed Him of the way of understanding?
Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are regarded s a speck of dust on the scales;
behold He lifts up the islands like fine dust.” Isaiah 40:12-15
To whom will you liken Me that I should e his equal?” Says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars,
The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name;
Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power not one of them is missing.
There is nothing like fear and awe of God to put our personal fears in perspective.
And in spite of our personal fears and needs that make His Mighty power seem little
He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Isaiah 40:29
All our praise goes to Him for His majestic power and the depths of His compassion to deal with our emotional, imagine- driven human nature to His glory.
