Why Does My Mom Say We are in the Last Day?
Why does my mom keep saying "we are living in the last day"?
She is a Christian and she said that we are living in the last days because of where the world is heading.
Answer:
A complete study of the Scriptures will be needed to completely understand the days we are living in. The reason Genesis gives all the genealogies is so that we can have a complete and accurate Chronology. That is extremely necessary when we understand that this age is only 7 thousand years long. We are also told in Scriptures that the Day of Judgement (Day of the Lord, Kingdom, Millennium) is the last one thousand years of the seven. We are already past 6 thousand years since the creation of Adam. Because we are in the time for the Kingdom to start, we know this world (present society) will have to pass before Jesus will institute his government as a King and Priest over the world with his Bride (Faithful Christians).
All of the above would take more space than allotted to explain. But there are a few more pointed scriptures that give us clues.
Daniel talks about rapid transportation and the increase of knowledge. This is unprecedented in history, it is only recently that this can have application.
Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Jesus talks about the fig tree (we know he is talking about Israel--because when he cursed the fig tree it represented Israel), and that the generation that sees favor coming back to Israel--that is they become a nation (1948) that generation (not the one of his day--that is obvious when it is read), will not pass till all things be fulfilled. So what is he saying. That 70-80 years from the time Israel becomes a nation, the Kingdom which all Christians pray for will be here.
What are the all that has to be fulfilled? Psalm 83, Hour of Power of the Antichrist, Death of the Faithful Christians by Antichrist, Great Time of Trouble, Armegddon, Ezekiel 38, 39.
We are closely coming to the 70 year mark and still a lot has to happen, but those events happen in rapid succession and don't require many years to happen. Once we see Psalm 83 happen, you will see the world turned upside down.
Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Psa_90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
