Hab 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
What exactly is this vision that is put so plainly on tablets, so those who are in the race may read it and that it will facilitate them in their sprint to the end, to the finish.
I am used to a very basic chart, not a lot of words, I can read it, but if I showed it to you, I am not so sure you could pull out of it all I know about it unless everything was explained. So I began thinking perhaps that is not the plain message that is being spoken about.
This past spring another chart was made---kind of on the wordy side, but if one knows their scriptures this chart should be easy to read.
Another thing about this chart is that it is not a chart of the whole plan of God, but a chart from today forward till the completion of the Bride of Christ. A very narrow window into the very end of the Gospel Age.
Then I began to think about the one who is "running". Yes, all Christians are in a race, and we all run, but I think this is a more specific running--again in that narrow window of time.
Jesus warns us that our flight (our fleeing--aka running) be not in Winter or the Sabbath. So there is a specific running in the harvest which is the end of the age--before the winter or Sabbath which pictures the Great Tribulation.
I may be off base, but these scriptures and these thoughts keep directing me to that new chart. I didn't make the chart, I was there while it was being made.
We had a Prophetic Study weekend, and there was about forty of us present discussing what started as a dozen or so prophetic events, and ended up with about 50 of them. Our goal was to organize them in chronological order.
If we have the order correct, and I think we do, then once we identify that a certain event has taken place, we know exactly where we are and what may happen next and what our job as ambassador's for Christ will be.
As a Christian our job isn't just to live and die and be resurrected, our job is to give messages to specific groups, just as the prophets of old did, just as Jesus did, just as the Apostles did.
We have the commission to anoint Jehu, Hazael and Elisha, we have to give the John the Baptist Message, we a message for Israel---we only know that from studying God's Word. And only by studying the order of events will we know when the time for those messages is.
One also has to recognize that "all scripture given by God is profitable for doctrine, reproof and instruction that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished." God's Word is like silver refined seven times. The Bible isn't just filled with interesting stories, these stories were selected for a reason.
Paul informs us that the experiences of Natural Israel is a type for us Christians. We will do the same things, and so there is a multitude of lessons.
We are told in the New Testament of some of the types in the Old Testament to pay attention to: Noah, Lot, Elijah, Abraham and more. So, if we are not studying these as types, we are not going to have enough oil to finish our journey--to get to the finish line like the foolish virgins.
This chart, I think is important. I think every Christian should look at it, should look at the events on it and try to understand their meaning. We have been studying on these matters for years, so if one mentions Gideon or destruction of Babylon--it immediately conjures up images and thoughts---if it doesn't for you, you need to study those subjects and understand them.
